Dhaka, April 24 -- Bangla Literature Muslim Renaissance Poet Mukul Chowdhury (Manjurul Karim Chowdhury) is no more. He breathed his last at 1.30 am on Tuesday (April 22) while undergoing treatment at the National Heart Foundation Sylhet (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He was 70. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Retired Islamic Foundation official Poet Mukul Chowdhury was born on August 22, 1958 in Khalopar village of Lalabazar Union of South Surma Upazila of Sylhet district.
He has been writing relentlessly since the mid-seventies. He established himself in the Bengali literary scene as one of the most powerful poets of the eighties. In addition to poetry, he was powerful, neat, and intelligent in prose.
