Dhaka, Oct. 22 -- Forest guards have conducted a drive to remove plastic waste floating from the sea in Dublar Char in the Sundarbans. A huge amount of plastic waste has been removed in the last two days.
According to forest department sources, forest guards led by Deputy Ranger Subrata Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of the Eastern Sundarbans Division's Jele Palli Dubla Patrol Outpost, and Forester Tanvir Hasan Imran, officer-in-charge of the Alorkol Forest Patrol Outpost, removed a huge amount of plastic waste floating from the Bay of Bengal in the Alorkol, Meherali and Office Kella chars of Dublar on Sunday and Monday.
The environment of the Sundarbans was about to be polluted due to these floating plastic wastes.
