India, Jan. 8 -- A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Patharghata Police Station was detained by magistrate for trying to bribe in favour of an accused in a CR case lobbying for bail in Patharghata Upazila of Barguna.
Later, after he was taken into custody, but released on bond under the conditions of the divisional case.
The incident took place at the Patharghata Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday afternoon.
The detained police officer is SI Shahriar Jalal of Patharghata Police Station.
According to court sources, Senior Judicial Magistrate Panir Sheikh was staying in his private chamber when SI Shahriar entered there with permission.
