Dhaka, April 7 -- Parvez Hossain Emon etched his name into the record books with a whirlwind knock after the Eid break, smashing the fastest fifty in Bangladesh's recognized cricket history.

The 22-year-old left-handed opener hammered a full-length delivery through mid-wicket for six completing his half-century despite losing his grip on the bat.

Facing Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at BKSP on Sunday, Parvez blasted 61 runs off just 23 balls, including 4 fours and 6 sixes. Abahani Limited cruised to an emphatic 10-wicket victory, chasing down the target in just 6.4 overs after bundling Shinepukur out for 88 runs.
