Dhaka, June 19 -- Pakistan has officially designated Imran Haider as its next high commissioner to Bangladesh, confirming a diplomatic reshuffle that ends speculation over the return of the current envoy, Syed Ahmed Maroof. "The Pakistan Government has appointed Imran Haider the new high commissioner to Bangladesh," a senior official from the Pakistani High Commission in Dhaka told The New Nation on Wednesday.
Sources said that the official procedures are underway, and he would assume office once the formalities are completed.
