Dhaka, May 20 -- In a bid to enhancing regional connectivity and fostering closer people-to-people relations, Bangladesh's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) has granted approval to Pakistani private carrier AirSial to operate direct flights between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The move follows a similar approval granted earlier this year to Pakistan's Fly Jinnah, signaling a renewed momentum in air travel and bilateral engagement between the two South Asian nations.

Air Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan, Chairman of CAAB, confirmed the development, told the media, "We gave clearance to AirSial to operate direct flights between Bangladesh and Pakistan. A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism in this regard."
