Dhaka, Aug. 5 -- Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) yesterday said there are no security threats ahead of the events on the occasion of the July Mass Uprising Day today.

The government is on high alert, the Adviser told reporters following a meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry in the Bangladesh Secretariat, states BSS.

He added there is no reason to panic.

"By the grace of Almighty Allah, all types of events and programs will be held peacefully with the cooperation of everyone," he said.

Jahangir Alam said that the government is alert about everything for which many meetings are being held and cooperation of all concerned is sought.
