Dhaka, Dec. 16 -- Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Monday stated that the Awami League (AL), under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, "cannot be allowed" to participate in the national elections scheduled for February 12, 2026.

Shafiqul Alam described Sheikh Hasina as a "heinous criminal" who is allegedly orchestrating terror campaigns against Bangladesh. "The party chief is a death-row convict for crimes against humanity and is currently a fugitive from justice, continuing to incite violent acts targeting the nation," he told media.
