Dhaka, July 27 -- US-Bangla Airlines has rejected recent media reports claiming that a Nepali court has ordered the airline to pay compensation to the families of victims of its 2018 plane crash in Kathmandu.

"We have not received any official court order or documentation on this matter," said Kamrul Islam, General Manager (Public Relations) of US-Bangla Airlines, speaking to the media.

The report, published by Nepal's The Kathmandu Post on 22 July, stated that a district court in Kathmandu had directed the Dhaka-based carrier to pay approximately $2.74 million (around Tk 33.5 crore) to the families of those who died in the tragic accident.
