Dhaka, Dec. 13 -- Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Friday reaffirmed that no power on earth can block or derail the forthcoming national election, stressing the government's commitment to ensuring a participatory, festive and competitive electoral environment.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Sureshwar Darbar Sharif in Naria upazila of Shariatpur, he said that although the "fallen autocratic elements" may attempt to disrupt the process, they will ultimately fail.
He added that Bangladeshis have been deprived of a genuine election for the last 15 and a half years under the "removed Hasina regime," and the public is now eagerly anticipating a proper democratic exercise.
