Dhaka, Jan. 28 -- The Bangladesh Railway Running Staff and Workers Employees Association declared that their strike will go on after a two-hour meeting with railway authorities ended without a resolution.
Railways Secretary Md Fahimul Islam held a meeting with running staff to resolve the crisis on Tuesday afternoon at the VIP room of Dhaka Railway Station. BNP Chairperson's Special Assistant and labour leader Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas was also present.
The strike, which began at midnight on Monday, stems from demands for pension, gratuity, and running allowance. As a result, train services nationwide have been suspended since Tuesday morning, leaving passengers with advance tickets stranded and facing inconvenience.
