Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- In a dramatic development, the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division suspended the High Court order that had deferred the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election until 30 October.

The suspension came within just half an hour of the HC directive, after Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir, representing Dhaka University, lodged an appeal The High Court, on Monday, announced the DUCSU elections would be postponed until October 21 following a writ petition filed by leftist leader Fahmida Alam regarding the validity of DU Shibir President S M Farhad's candidacy.
