Dhaka, March 1 -- Speakers at a roundtable discussion on Friday stressed that there is no alternative to banning unregistered autorickshaws to ease traffic congestion in Rangpur city.

At the discussion titled "Measures to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Rangpur City," leaders of various social and political organizations, officials from the district administration, BRTA, city corporation, and traffic department, as well as journalists, students, and representatives of civil society, shared their views on the matter.

The roundtable was held yesterday at a restaurant in the city in the morning organized by Rampur's Multi-Party Advocacy Forum (MAF) with support from Democracy International and the UK's FCDO.
