Dhaka, Dec. 19 -- Police recovered the body of Jannatara Rumi, 30, a National Citizen Party (NCP) member, from a student hostel in Hazaribagh on Thursday, officials said.
Inspector Shahadat Hossain of Hazaribagh Police Station said the body was discovered at a hostel on Old Kachabazar Road in Jigatala, hanging from a ceiling fan. Rumi's body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death will be determined following the autopsy.
Rumi was the daughter of Md Zakir Hossain from Patnitala Upazila in Naogaon and served as the joint coordinator of the NCP's Dhanmondi Thana branch, according to Saleh Uddin Sifat, the party's joint member secretary (office).
