Dhaka, Nov. 5 -- The Election Commission (EC) has decided to grant registration to three political parties, including the National Citizen Party (NCP), EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed announced on Tuesday. The other two parties are Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) and Bangladesh Aamjanagan Party.

"We've verified the authenticity of the documents submitted with their registration applications. The Commission has found these three parties eligible for registration," Akhtar Ahmed told reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka.

A public notification will be issued in newspapers on Wednesday, inviting objections, if any, against the registration of the parties, the EC Secretary added.
