Dhaka, April 22 -- Abul Hasan (Saiful) Islam, a member of the navy, went down while bathing in Muhuri River on Saturday. He is the son of Abul Khair of North Shaldhar village of Chithlia union of the upazila. He was working as a soldier in the Chittagong naval base.
Overwhelmed by the intense heat, he went to bathe at the Ghat adjacent to Nazir's house on the Muhuri River along with five friends from the area at two in the afternoon on Saturday.
Suddenly he sank under the water. Immediately four friends tried to rescue him but failed. Parashuram informed the members of the fire service.
