Dhaka, Feb. 11 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday stated that the government has assured them preparations are underway to hold national elections by December this year.
Following a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus at his residence, Fakhrul informed reporters that his party would not accept local government elections or any other polls before the national elections.
Fakhrul also criticised the government for failing to prevent recent incidents of vandalism across the country.
