Dhaka, July 23 -- The nation observed a one-day state mourning on Tuesday in the wake of the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft at Milestone School and College in Uttara's Diabari area of the capital, which left dozens dead and many others injured.
As part of the mourning, the national flag was flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private institutions, including educational establishments throughout the country, as well as at all Bangladeshi missions abroad.
According to Professor Md Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for Health and Family Welfare, the death toll from the crash has reached 27 as of this morning.
