Dhaka, July 25 -- The 18th National Wushu competition, one of the most prestigious events of Wushu, was formally inaugurated at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.

National Sports Council Secretary Aminul Islam inaugurated the five-day meet as the chief guest. Bangladesh Wushu Federation (BWF) president Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman presided over the opening ceremony.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, NSC Secretary Aminul Islam assured all kinds of support for the development of Washu.

BWF president Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman expressed optimism saying that if things work as planned, it is possible to bring back the good days of Wushu.
