Dhaka, Dec. 6 -- Following the completion of workover operations, gas supply from Well No. 5 of the Habiganj Gas Field has commenced to the national grid.
The supply was officially inaugurated on Wednesday afternoon by Petrobangla Chairman Rezanur Rahman.
Well No. 5, located in the Raghunandan area of Habiganj, was originally drilled in 1988.
At present, the well is contributing 14 million cubic feet of gas per day to the national grid.
After the workover process, daily production is expected to increase to 26 million cubic feet, meaning an additional 12 million cubic feet of gas will be supplied daily.
