Dhaka, March 5 -- The government has decided to remove the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre" and the "Bangabandhu Science and Technology Fellowship Trust Act," according to Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Water Resources.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Advisory Council on Tuesday (March 4). However, details about what specific amendments will be made to these laws were not disclosed.
She further explained that many institutions were named after prominent figures, including families associated with them. As part of this decision, the names of two institutions are being changed.
