Dhaka, Nov. 20 -- On Tuesday , A vibrant fish fair has been set up at Panchshira Bazar in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat, centred around the traditional Nabanna festival. Every year, locals refer to it in different names some call it the 'Jamai Mela' but in essence, it is a grand fish fair that draws large crowds.
The fair showcases a wide variety of fish including katla, chitol, silver carp, bighead, and boal, arranged neatly in rows. Fish weighing from 1 kg to as much as 30 kg have been brought to the fair. Many visitors are enjoying the display with enthusiasm-some simply observing, while others are making purchases.
