Dhaka, April 28 -- A video of a woman being dragged away by a private car of muggers in the capital's Siddheshwari area has gone viral.
Investigation revealed that the incident took place in front of Greenland Tower in Siddheshwari on Saturday morning. The woman survived the incident, but was seriously injured.
The kidnappers fled. Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (media) Talebur Rahaman said they were inspecting the scene and that no case has been filed yet, but legal procedures were underway.
According to police, the victim, Farhana, is a teacher who works at a college in Chandra, Gazipur. She lives with her family in Siddheshwari, where the mugging took place.
