Dhaka, Oct. 18 -- The journey of the American-based television channel MTV (Music Television), which has been a symbol of music and youth culture, is coming to an end.

However, all five of its channels that will be closed are from the UK branch.

They include - 'MTV Music', 'MTV 80s', 'MTV 90s', 'Club MTV' and 'MTV Live'.

Paramount Global, the owner of MTV, has announced that these channels will be off the air from December 31 of this year.

They said that they have planned to reduce the size of the television network and increase investment in digital platforms from now on.

MTV's journey began in the United States in 1981 with the slogan 'I want my MTV'. Later, it spread all over the world.
