Dhaka, March 5 -- The Ministry of Education has decided to establish a "Monitoring Authority" to oversee the management of seven government colleges previously affiliated with Dhaka University (DU). This change will come into effect for the 2024-25 academic session.

A directive regarding this decision was issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education and was sent to the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University on Monday.According to the directive, the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the principal of one of the seven colleges will lead the new monitoring body.
