Dhaka, July 22 -- Today is 99th birth anniversary of Mufazzal Haider Chaudhury. He was a distinguished Bengali essayist, scholar of Bangla literature, educator, and linguist, born in 1926 at Khalishpur village in Noakhali district. Losing his father at an early age, he excelled academically, securing fourth place in the matriculation examination under the University of Calcutta and later topping his classes in both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Bangla from the University of Calcutta and the University of Dhaka.
