Dhaka, Sept. 5 -- The Cricketers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) election was held on Thursday, long surrounded by speculation. Previously, the central committee was dominated by former players who often failed to protect the interests and benefits of active cricketers, leaving many frustrated. This time, current players have taken the lead. Out of 11 posts, 10 were uncontested, with most candidates elected unopposed. The only real contest was for the president's position.

Voting took place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur between 3-5 PM. Former national cricketer Selim Shahed faced off against batter Mohammad Mithun.
