Dhaka, April 24 -- Law enforcement officials have confirmed the safe recovery of five University of Chittagong (CU) students who were abducted in Khagrachhari nine days ago.

Khagrachhari Superintendent of Police Arefin Jewel reported that the students were rescued on Thursday afternoon. The news was also confirmed by Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP) President Nipon Tripura around 3pm.

According to a press release signed by Rebek Chakma, Information and Publicity Secretary of the University of Chittagong unit of PCP, the rescued individuals include PCP CU branch member Rishan Chakma, along with his friends Maitrimoy Chakma (Fine Arts), Dibby Chakma (Dramatics), Longi Mro (Zoology), and Aldrin Tripura (Fine Arts).
