Dhaka, March 4 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been admitted to city's United Hospital on Sunday after falling ill.

The BNP leader was feeling sick for the past two days, with his condition worsening following his visit to the Suhrawardy Udyan book fair last week, BNP chairmperson's media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told media.

In an update on Monday morning, Sayrul confirmed thatMirza Fakhrul is now feeling better and in stable condition.

The doctors and Fakhrul's family have asked the people to avoid unnecessary gathering at the hospital.

The party men have been requested to keep him in their prayers for his quick recovery.
