Dhaka, April 12 -- A court has ordered the detention of former Miss Earth Bangladesh winner model and actress Meghna Alam for 30 days under the Special Powers Act.

Police say Meghna has been taken into protective custody. The reason cited is an attempt to worsen international relations by spreading lies about important individuals.

This information was given in a message from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday.
