Dhaka, Oct. 22 -- Legendary Bollywood comedy actor Govardhan Asrani has passed away. Due to age-related complications, he breathed his last on Monday afternoon (October 20) at a hospital in Mumbai.

He was 84 years old at the time of his death. The renowned actor had been suffering from illness for a long time. The Indian film fraternity is mourning his demise.

A post on his official Instagram account stated, 'The news of the death of the King of Laughter, Asrani Ji, has plunged us into deep sorrow. His unique acting, simplicity, and sense of humor gave Indian cinema a new identity.

His passing is an irreparable loss not only to the film industry but also to everyone who has ever laughed because of his performances.'
