Dhaka, March 12 -- The interim government is considering a reassessment of Bangladesh's transition from Least Developed Country (LDC) status following concerns over economic fragility, said the Chief Adviser's Special Assistant (Finance), Anisuzzaman Chowdhury.

Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday, he stated that the possibility of deferring Bangladesh's LDC graduation process remains open.

"We can certainly submit an appeal, and it will be reviewed accordingly," he remarked, adding that doubts persist regarding the eligibility criteria.

"A committee has been formed to evaluate these concerns, and their review is ongoing."
