Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- Hindu devotees observed 'Kumari Puja' on the Maha Ashtami of five-day long Durga Puja across the country on Monday after two years of hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The main attraction of the day is Kumari Puja where a pre-pubescent girl is worshipped as "Mother Goddess", reports UNB.

Thousands of Hindu devotees thronged Puja Mandaps throughout the country to celebrate it in the morning.

In Dhaka city, 'Kumari Puja' has been arranged at Dhakeshwari National Temple, Ramkrishna Mission and Math, Kalabagan, Banani, Shakhari Bazar and Ramna Kali Mandir.
