Dhaka, April 27 -- Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Abdul Basit Azad has said that the international community, including the United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), should take effective initiatives to stop Israeli brutality in Palestine that has been going on for the last six months.
"The leaders of the Muslim world must stand beside the oppressed people of Palestine with cooperation.
We urge the government of Bangladesh to immediately make strong diplomatic efforts in the international arena," he said after a protest procession held at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Friday.
He added that the government has to be accountable for why a direct flight from Israel came to Bangladesh on Eid.
