Dhaka, Dec. 19 -- BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia is showing a positive response to treatment, and doctors remain hopeful that her physical condition will gradually improve, her personal physician has said.

Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, also a member of the BNP Standing Committee, shared the update while speaking to reporters outside Evercare Hospital in the capital on Thursday.

He expressed optimism, saying Khaleda Zia is recovering under close medical supervision and following the prescribed treatment plan, with her condition remaining stable over the past few days.

Dr Zahid added that she is expected to recover and resume her appropriate role in the country's political life.
