Dhaka, July 18 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the victory of July belongs to the general people of the country.
"Everyone came out in the anti-dictatorship movement that day. Everyone's goal was to build a democratic Bangladesh," he told a discussion organized by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in memory of the students killed in the July mass uprising at the TSC Auditorium of Dhaka University.
Fakhrul said the mass uprising of July 2024 has opened the door to new possibilities after 1971 and 1990, reports BSS.
"But whose credit is the victory of July? Many are claiming it, but this credit belongs to the people of the country," he said.
