Dhaka, Nov. 12 -- 'July Oikyo,' a coalition born out of the July Uprising, has announced a counter sit-in programme on November 13 - the same day the banned Awami League (AL) plans to enforce its "Dhaka lockdown."

The announcement came from the alliance's chief organiser, Mosaddeq Ali Ibne Mohammad, at a press conference held at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen on Tuesday noon.

Mosaddeq said protest marches will also be organised in Dhaka, Chattogram, Barishal, and Sylhet, pressing for the death penalty of Sheikh Hasina and the implementation of the "July National Charter."

"It is unfortunate that even after a year since the July Uprising, we still have to talk about the banned and militant group called the Awami League," he added.
