Dhaka, Aug. 1 -- A joint training of Bangladesh and US Army on counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, jungle operations, and explosives was held at Jalalabad Cantonment in Sylhet.

The training, which began on July 25, officially concluded on Wednesday (July 30) morning with a closing ceremony.

100 members of the army's para-commando unit and 66 members of the Nevada National Guard under the US Army participated.

The chief guest was Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman, GOC of the 17th Infantry Division. US Charge d'Affaires to Bangladesh Tracy Ann Jacobson was present as the chief guest.

Brigadier General Imrul Hasan, Chief of the Para-Commando Brigade of the Bangladesh Army, delivered a keynote speech at the beginning.
