Dhaka, Dec. 2 -- The process of exhuming and repatriating the remains of 18 Japanese soldiers killed in World War II from the War Cemetery on Badsha Mia Road in the Chattogram City has been successfully completed.

A 10-member expert delegation appointed by the Government of Japan stayed in Chattogram from 17 to 28 November to carry out all necessary work. Under directives from the interim government, the Chattogram Area of the Bangladesh Army provided required security and administrative support throughout the operation. The overall activities and excavation were supervised and led by Bir Muktijoddha and excavation specialist Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Sazzad Ali Zahir (Retd.), Bir Protik.
