Dhaka, June 1 -- The district office of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) in Lalmonirhat was completely gutted after unidentified assailants set it on fire late Saturday night.

Police and eyewitnesses reported that around 15 to 20 individuals arrived on eight to ten motorcycles at approximately 11 PM. The group broke the locks of the office, situated at Alorupa Mor in the district headquarters, before looting valuables and setting the premises ablaze.

Alarmed by the spreading flames, local residents rushed to the scene and worked quickly to prevent the fire from reaching nearby shops.
