Dhaka, Oct. 17 -- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Mymensingh city and district units submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh recently, demanding the issuance of a constitutional order and the holding of a referendum to implement the July National Charter ahead of the upcoming national election scheduled for February. The memorandum also reiterated their previously declared five-point demand.

At around 12:00 noon, a delegation led by Mymensingh City Ameer Maulana Kamrul Ahsan Emrul and District Ameer Md. Abdul Karim handed over the memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

Earlier, several thousand leaders and activists brought out a procession that paraded through key streets of the city.
