Dhaka, May 1 -- Jamaat-e-Islami's Amir, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has stated that if his party comes to power, women will be provided with safe opportunities to work in the fields of their choice. He made the remarks on Thursday while addressing a workers' rally organized by the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Federation in Paltan, Dhaka.
Dr. Rahman criticized the current state of labor rights in the country, claiming that many workers are still being denied their rightful dues. "Workers are not receiving minimum wages and are being forced to take on multiple jobs to make ends meet," he said. He also expressed concern over the lack of prayer facilities for female workers in factories, urging employers to address such basic needs.
