Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam on Monday urged the nation to pray for the swift recovery and well-being of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a statement, ATM Azharul Islam said, "With unwavering dedication, sacrifice, courage, and resilience, Begum Khaleda Zia has worked tirelessly to uphold the country's independence, sovereignty, and statehood."

He stated that her steadfast resistance against 15 years of what he described as the Awami League's fascist rule and her continued activism would remain inscribed in the nation's political history.
