Dhaka, April 29 -- The Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) Chess team clinched the team championship at the 9th National Chess Carnival was held at Notre Dame College in the capital recently.
The victorious IUB Mittens team featured Amit Bikram Roy (Computer Science and Engineering Department), Justin Mathias (International Relations Department), and guest players FM Sakline Mostafa of Rajarbag Police Lines School & College and Shatadru Shovan Dey.
Amit won five accolades - he secured first place in the Team Chess and Chess Puzzle events, finished runner-up in Solo Chess, and earned third-place in both Chess960 and Puzzle Relay.
