Dhaka, May 18 -- Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain staged demonstrations for a fourth straight day on Sunday, demanding his swearing-in as Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

In the morning, protesters gathered at Nagar Bhaban, locked the main entrance, and shut down several rooms and elevators within the building.

Hundreds of demonstrators also blocked the main road in front of Nagar Bhaban, chanting slogans and voicing their demands.

At one stage, the protestors marched from Nagar Bhaban towards the Secretariat, calling for the resignation of Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan and others.
