Dhaka, Aug. 30 -- International flight operations from Cox's Bazar Airport are set to begin by mid-October, announced Sheikh Bashir Uddin, adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Commerce, on Thursday (28 August).

The announcement came during his inspection of the airport's ongoing development works. Sheikh Bashir said that nearly 80 percent of the new international terminal has been completed, with preparations advancing on schedule.

Before the inspection, he held a meeting with airport authorities and project officials, followed by a tour of the under-construction terminal. He reviewed progress and spoke with engineers and staff overseeing the project.
