Dhaka, March 7 -- Countries inflation has continued its downward trend in February at 9.32 percent, slightly lower than January's 9.94 percent, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released on Thursday.

The general point-to-point inflationat the national level was 9.67 percent in February last year.

In February this year, food inflation was 9.24 percent compared to 10.72 percent in the previous month, declining by 2.2 percentage points.

Talking to the New Nation, Md Ghulam Rahman, former president of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), said the present situation is very difficult for us, however, the country's inflation continuing downward trend is very a positive for signal.
