Dhaka, Feb. 18 -- The finance ministry announced on Tuesday that the two scheduled IMF disbursements for FY2024-25 will be combined and made in June.

"Therefore, the IMF agreed to combine the fourth and the fifth disbursements together," reads a press release issued Tuesday.

"The disbursement will be made in June after satisfactory completion of the review scheduled in April and approval by the IMF Board in June 2025. The fourth tranche loan from the IMF is $4.7 billion."

In this regard, the Ministry of Finance said the IMF approved a loan to the tune of $4.7 billion in 2023, against which Bangladesh had already received three installments amounting to $2.3 billion.
