Bangladesh, Feb. 18 -- A fine of Tk 1 lakh has been imposed for illegal sand mining from an unleased area of the Dhala River in Dhormopur-Jasmatpur, Rahimpur Union, Kamolganj Upazila, Moulvibazar. On Sunday afternoon, a mobile court, led by the Kamolganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer, fined Abdul Kadir for the offence.
Confirming the operation, UNO Md. Asaduzzaman said the fine was collected for illegal sand extraction from the unleased portion of the Dhala River in Dhormopur. He added that operations against illegal sand mining will continue.
