Dhaka, Dec. 29 -- The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has once again attempted to erect a barbed wire fence in the Ghonapara area of the Uchna border in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat, violating international border law.
Tension has been high in the area since early this morning after the BGB stopped work due to obstruction. BGB members have stepped up patrols and taken up positions.
Earlier, BSF members had attempted to erect a barbed wire fence at that border area twice in a row.
On Saturday morning, attempts were being made to install this fence in the areas of sub-pillars 47, 48 and 49 of main border pillar number 281 on the Purba Uchna Ghonapara border under Kaya BOP of Panchbibi Upazila.
